Greasy Spoon is a very rustic but modern restaurant. They offer a variety of comfort foods made elegantly with fresh ingredients. Every choice on thier menu is delicious but here are some of the ones we picked:

Starters

-“Red Hot” Fried Calamari(12$)…These were exceptional but if you are not a lover of spice, no worries because they were not that spicy. They also come in a little paper cone (cute).

-Philly Cheese Imperial Roll with Braised Short Ribs and Cheese Curds(13$)…These little imperial rolls were delicious. I just could have went without the cheese sauce.

-Greasy Spoon Smoked Meat Poutine(12$)…This was an amazing dish. The potatoes were not the traditional french fries, they were potatoe balls. Very yummy.

Main Course

-Heirloom Cherry Tomato Spaghetti(16$)…These were a very tasty dish.

-Lobster Roll with Homemade Chips and Taragon Coleslaw(25$)…These lobster rolls were definitly the best rolls I’ve ever had. And they do not skip out on the lobster.

In conclusion, this restaurant was excellent and not too expensive. The atmosphere was very cozy and rustic. Employee’s were very kind and attentive.

Juliette et Chocolat is a wonderfull restaurant f you are looking for a great chocolate desserts and an awesome atmosphere. The restaurant these days is beautifuly decorated because of the upcoming Christmas Holidays. The waiters are all wearing French inspired red hats and are very welcoming.

I went there this past Saturday night because my friends and I were in the mood to eat chocolate. It was my first time there and I was very impressed. We arrived around 8:30 p.m, and so of corse there was going to a waiting line. I have to admit that the que went by fast. I will now explain to you what I ordered:

Chai Latte:(Small) 4.15$… This Chai Latte was amazing. One of the best Chai Latte’s I’ve ever had.

Petit Pot au Caramel Fleur de Sel:4.75$…Just like in the name, it comes in a petit pot. It was so delicios and i really recommend it. Only downside would be that it wasn’t big enough.

In conclusion, this dessert hang-out spot is a great place to go if you are having a chocolate craving, but if you tend on going a Friday or Saturday night, expect to wait at least 20 minutes to get a table. They offer Crepes, Chocolate Desserts, Ice Creams, Brownies, Chocolate Fondues, Salades (which I do not know why) and a variety of Chocolates and beverages.

Ok wow how long has it been since our last post?!

We’ve been to quite a few new places since our last check in with you guys but we never bring a proper camera for pictures so i guess i can try to describe it to you and give general ratings of the places (if i can even remember them).

We went to a little resto outside peel metro called Deville. It’s an 18+ resto since they have a full bar license. Trendy atmosphere but expensive. The clientele was an older age group.. I’d say maybe late twenties and up. We had already eaten dinner and were going out for drinks afterward so we just wanted a dessert. We ordered beignets and the double chocolate (or double fudge wtv) cake. When it arrived, we were in awe at how huge the portions were.. i guess we do get our money’s worth but it’s still pretty overwhelming. We were splitting it three ways so if you’re ordering for yourself, expect to bring home a doggie bag. The cake was a whole cake with a serving of ice cream. The beignets were like extra large timbits.. the ones with white powder all around them and inside, it was just plain dough and a bit of cinnamon sugar. We got about 8 total. That came with a caramel dip and a nutella mousse type thing. They were really good. The chocolate cake on the other hand was extremely rich and tasted of straight up cocoa. i wouldn’t suggest taking it if you’re not a fan of dark chocolate. Also the waitress we had was super nice. the whole staff, actually is super friendly and polite. I’d go back if i had more cash munz.

We went to McKibbins on St.Laurent.. which is technically not a restaurant but they serve food so. We had an order of fish and chips as well as some Belfast chicken wings (which were effing massive!.. nearly the size of a small chicken leg). Go there with an empty stomach if you’re planning on ordering food and not just drinks because even though they were delicious, we could barely finish the wings. They are really spicy too.. they give you the option of mild medium or hot and the medium sauce was pretty intense. It’s fine though, wash it down with a Harp or Guinness ;)

hmm.. can’t think of much more right now.. we go to pubs quite a bit and not so many restaurants anymore.

OH! yes yes yes, how could i forget! Last week, we went to a place in the west island called Jukebox Burger. The decor was so cute.. it was all fifties inspired and there were pictures of marlon brando on the walls (he was such a massive babe omg). They had a jukebox too (obviously a place like that would have to have one…it’s even in their name!). So the way it works is you choose your bread, then you choose your patty (either meat or veggie burgers). You choose your toppings (onions, cheese, bacon, etc..) then you choose your side dish.. now that i think of it, the process is very similar to subway haha! Some of us ordered some milkshakes, and rootbeer floats which were all delicious. The food itself was really good too! I would definitely go back.

We went to La Banquise a while ago. It was my first time and it was pretty cool to have different flavoured poutine. I don’t think anything beats poutine at like 2am when you’re slightly under the influence and in good company haha. We tried a pizza poutine and a taco one or mexicali something.. it came with guacamole and salsa.. and a pogo poutine. which was exactly what you’d imagine; a poutine with cut up pieces of a pogo on it. We’d definitely go back.. hopefully the queue isn’t too long when you guys go! You guys will enjoy no matter what you order because at the base of whatever crazy topping they come up with, you still get your fries and cheese curds with the good ol’ poutine sauce so you really can’t go wrong at this place.

Enjoy, guys! Hope this post was helpful. Summer is here so we can all take the time to enjoy our days with friends and try new places to eat!

Next review: BOFINGER! (can’t tell you when it’ll be up, though.)

Hello!

I don’t have pictures of the food and everything but i guess it’s not really necessary.

So, a couple of weeks ago, I went to ZIBO with a friend. It’s this sort of resto grill but they have a bar and a dance area. It is located at Les Galleries d’Anjou. The food was really good BUT it was also kind of expensive.. for a student, anyway. :P We ordered an entree of calmari fritti, a pizza au pepperoni, and some sort of caramel melty thing for dessert.. it was alright but i don’t think i would order that again. My friend ordered penne with a tomato sauce that had assorted seafood in it… she said it was amazing… so i guess if you go there, i’d suggest you order the penne… don’t get the pizza. Nothing special. The calmari was good, though… if you’re down for that, you won’t be disappointed. :) The ambience is quite nice, too.. the decor is lovely and the chairs are soo comfortable!

jnq asked: Not a question, but more of a reply:

Kanda is "good" for when you're really hungry, cause you get AYCE for less than $30 per.

If you don't mind paying the price, Zenya Sushi on St-Catherine has always been great. A few people have told me that their quality has dropped, but call them and ask when "Mark" (one of the sous-chefs I believe) is working. He'll definitely make sure you enjoy your sushi experience.

Happy Feasting!

Oooh alright! I’m sure this will be very helpful to whoever asked us. Thanks so much. :)

Here are details and directions to Shahrazad…

Telephone: 514-395-2258

1242 Crescent St. Montreal, Quebec. H3G 2A9

To get there, you can get off at Guy-Concordia metro and walk to St.Catherine. Walk east (turn left) once on St.Catherine (same direction as traffic) till you get to Crescent. Turn right on Crescent (it is just south of st.cat)… it is halfway down the block on the right.. just go up the steps and you’re there! :)

So the other day, we went downtown to see Down With Webster perform on Crescent street for the closing show of the Grand Prix festivities (they were amazing as usual). We went pretty early and were hungry so we figured we’d go eat somewhere in the area.

We ended up going to Shahrazad resto cafe/ shisha lounge. Let’s break down the whole experience for you…

..we walked in and sat down and waited quite a little while for the waitress to come see us.. must admit, the service is very slow since there is only one waitress for the whole place. She brought us our menus which had an overwhelming amount of options of arab dishes to choose from. Everything sounded so yummy!

I ordered the veggie burger trio since it was the only vegetarian meal on the menu (unless i wanted tabouleh, fattoush or hummus …but i was kind of in the mood for a veg burger). I must say that that veggie burger was hands down the best veggie burger i have ever had. It had an amazing type of smoky flavour to it and it tasted arab …i loved it!

It was served with a serving of crispy french fries and salad with some sort of dressing… i am not sure what kind of dressing it was but it was a pale yellowish-white colour. I’m pretty sure there was mayo and garlic and lemon juice and other stuff of that sort in it… it was really good! ..i feel like someone’s old arab grandma/sito could have made it :P

Then we had our shisha (peace pipe). We ordered mint flavour since we wanted to try something new. We smoked a bit of it before our meal and continued after we were done eating. The mint was quite refreshing. You could feel the chill in your throat after exhaling.

We haven’t got any pictures since we had no intention of going out to eat and it was all so random and spontaneous but I urge you to go check it out if you are looking for a shisha lounge where you can get good food. :)

blairzilla asked: to the person who asked about sushi, Kanda (on Ste-Catherine/Aylmer has amazing all-you-can-eat sushi, for about $15-$20!

Oooh awesome! Thank you so much for the help. I honestly had no idea :P

Hey anon, you should hit up Kanda!!!! :P

Anonymous asked: Can you recommend some really good (but not tooo expensive) sushi restaurants?

To be honest, I actually don’t know of any good sushi places. :s

But i’m sure you will find amazing sushi at restaurants in china town… make sure they are actually chinese though (and not canadian) …the food is always better when the owners barely speak english… you know it’s legit :P

I’m sorry if this wasn’t much help :)
